How to Catch a Fairy
If you smell cinnamon you might be in the presence of fairies. And if you hear bells, and it's not Christmas time, you could be near a fairy.
So keep your ears open for jingling sounds. Oh, and if there's not a kitchen nearby, or your mom isn't making cinnamon rolls, a fairy might be near you.

1. Spread out glitter dust and put out an offering of fruit, sweets, or raspberry lemonade.
2.Silently watch until a curious fairy appears.
3.Once the fairy is within inches of reach, I catch it with my fairy net, and quickly slide it into my bottle.(A fairy cannot stay in a corked bottle for more than 10 minutes.
4.I observe the fairy and draw a sketch to meet it in the future.Then I release it.
5. The fairy will be angry, so immediately start asking for forgiveness, with offerings of food.

Hey, if you want to catch a fairy or spot one, you have to find a place where on might live and then put out the honey. Also you can see little fairy footprints on a tree sometimes. For great ways to spot a faity, check out books at Barnes and Noble.

Mix the honey and sugar untill its super sticky and super sweet and then pour it on the lilys, by the next morning you should have from 2-4 fairies, good luck with keeping them, and remember to be nice to them, they eat honey give them lots of it.

Also I just went in to my kitchen to look for honey and there was none! so i took out butterscotch instead and put it on a spoon then i put a little bit of sugar on it. I just found out that when you are looking for a fairy chant: "come out of your fairy bower, come upon at this golden hour, come to me i beg you please, fairies dancing upon the breeze" this should attract fairys but if you cant find a fairy let the fairy come to you. Hi, I'm Natalie and I'm an experienced fairy-catcher. I'm 20-years old and have been catching fairies since I was 13. When we first moved into my house it didn't take me more than a few months to figure out that the country-house we'd moved into was right in the middle of an extensive network of fairy villages and hideouts.
The first time I saw one I couldn't believe my eyes, and ran inside to get a net and jar. I didn't catch it of course, because it was gone by the time I'd come back. From then on, I was determined to catch one and devoted all my free time and summer to studying them and learning how to catch one.
Please don't take fairy-catching lightly. It is an EXTREMELY difficult art, and it took me TWO YEARS to actually catch my first one. Fairies are quite elusive.
Anyways, I don't guarantee you will catch them on your first week, but if you stick with it, you will eventually catch one.
Here's a few pointers:
1. Don't leave food offerings in a concentrated spot; that gets the fairies very suspicious and usually, they won't go for the bait. Instead, sprinkle the typical fairy bait (honey, fruit, and strangely, they're quite keen on bananas) in an area about ten square yards.
2. When watching your area, make sure that you remain a considerable distance, but still withing viewing range. The first time you see a fairy, that is your cue to help you know that they actually like your food. You can then begin moving your spot closer and closer to the baited area.
3. Once you've moved your spot closer and closer, and you still see fairies appearing, you will need to start wearing camoflauge. It's similar to hunting wild-turkeys...except for instead of covering your scent, you will need to smell like something they like to eat.
4. A good way to get your smell right is spending at least ten minutes in a small room with a scented candle. Vanilla, apple, and cinnamon works the best.
5. Once you actually get close to a fairy, from then on it's just like catching a butterfly. Once you have the fairy in the net, twist the net, leaving the fairy below the twisted part. Make sure you have a jar close at hand, and secure her in the jar with a lid.
6. Fairies cannot last in a jar without fresh oxygen for more than ten minutes. For further studying, make sure that you either have holes in the jar or a covered (empty) fish tank/ or terrerium.
7. Make sure that you constantly ensure the fairy that you just want to be friends and that you WILL NOT harm her. Fairy-catchers with the intent of hurting fairies should not be capturing them in the first place. If you catch a fairy and it ends up dying in your care, you can expect a wrathful invasion of it's tribe. You will not be safe in your house.
8. When you have a fairy, it's best not to take a picture of it. Rather, sketch it and maybe show it to a few close friends. Fairies almost went extinct in the middle ages due to a high-level of fame. If everybody knew they really existed, than the media would not leave them alone, and countless innocent fairies would be captured and put through exhausting scientific tests.
Protect the fairy population!

Well, i dont know wut they look like because they come when i am sleeping.
they take pictures. sometimes they are little balls of light in some they look like little people and in a few you can tell the wings body and glitter it leave behind.they also took pictures of me, my nightlight, my cat, and my pillow.one night they came and stood on my head while i was sleeping ant took pictures
i made a soup that they seem to like.what u need is
a little container
rose petals
leaves
water
about 3-5 spoonfulls of sugar
take the rose petals and leaves and rip them in to little pieces put them in the container.put in the sugar.add water.shake or mix it up. if you want take 4 willow tree leaves and put them in for flavor(keep them whole) put in freezer for about 10-20 mins.
take the willow leaves out.then give it to the fairies.
It is safe to eat.i only tried the broth.it is really sweet.they also love pictures of themselves.

well polly pccket clothes work well. i made a little store with polly pocket clothes and in the morning a few dresses were gone but a AWESOME rock in its place. They can be our size or as small as a bee

Yes fairies can be found almost anywhere some may be more common in some places than others. they like unhabited areas but they can still live in cities.
Fairies could live in your home.
talk out loud to them alot even if you dont see them you never know if they are listening.
If you want to then you could catch them. i would suggest using professer dalrymple's patented fairy catching system. it is harmless to the fairies and it DOES work.

My name is Ella and I have been a fairy catcher for six years now. The first time a saw a fairy I was at the park near my house and I could not believe it! I tried to catch her but she scampered off too quickly. I told my mom all about the fairy I saw and she helped me build a small trap to catch them. I still use that same trap we made together. I love fairies, they are good in soup, sometimes I grill them and put them in my salad, and I really like to tear their wings to shred and sprinkle them in my chocolate milk.

This is Ella again! to make the trap you will need to get some spanish moss which is used in floral arrangements a lot. Bunch the moss up and make it look like a little bird nest. in order to attract fairies you need to decorate the fairy nest with either real or fake flowers. fairies are also attracted to sparkley things so you can decorate it with glitter, fake jewels, sparkley stickers. you could even try to make aluminum foil look like jewels. Be creative, there are many possibilities. just make it pretty, glittery and comfortable. I put glue in the bottom of mine so their wings will get stuck in it and when i get hungry i just peel them off!

Hi this is g6 again.Thankyou A10 for all your advice.The tapping has stopped!I think it stopped because i was starting to get really freaked out thinking it was a ghost or something.We have fey in our garden I know because one time I went outside at night and asked the fey if the can visit my sisters and i in our bed.So they came while we were sleeping and put faerie dust on us,Our beds and in the icecream!My sister and I have also seen a white faerie and 2 green ones.Thanks again A10!

It grows in trees in areas that are warm with high humidity.If it does not grow where you live you can get spanish moss at many different places that sell crafts. I get mine from walmart in the arts and crafts section.

Hi this is g6.I believe in fey again!Because last night I wrote the fae a note asking them if they could give me a sign that they are there.So today I went outside and at this fairy house there was a sacred fairy flower there[the sacred fairy flower contains their powers and if picked whilst still white the fey will lose their powers ,we have a bush of them but only 2 or 3 bloom at a time]my 4 year old sister wouldn't do it because she knows not to touch those flowers and my 8 year old sister didn't do it because she was at a sleepover and my mum definently did not because she doesn't want me beliving in them.So now i'm also worried because I think the fairies have lost their powers.And also this buttterfly kept hanging around me until this ground cochroach crawled onto my foot and had a spaz which scared away the butterfly.I will post some pictures of the backyard and the sacred flower.

Hi this is g6.I just got back from a creek with rainforest all around it.It is a beautiful place.Anyway after I had finished swimming I decided to take a walk in the rainforest.When something flew past my eyes and I think I saw a fairy!It had a black dress and dragonfly wings.At first I thought it was dragonfly but a dragonfly doesn't have a 8 inch wing span!

Hi this is g6.A10 most people see fey without realising it!I have resently started seeing fey everyday but they do not contact me:(.The fey I see look like bugs from far away but are flying differently to normal bugs or are bigger .Also my great,great grandma {who used to have fey in her yard} told my grandma that some fairies live in daisies to hide from us. So if you see a upside down daisy that is a fairy but some are right side up.Hope this helps :D.
P.s I right letters to the fae and they never right back:( but the letters after being left out after a night, always have holes on them when I come to check on it.Strange...

Hi A10,this is g6.That was definently a fey.A lot of people say that fey look like fireflies and I don't think fireflies talk.A10 you are sooooo lucky fairies visit you in your room,They take the polly pocket dresses .The fey that live at my house dont take anything [except for a candycane one time :D]and they never respond to any notes I send them.I used to think that the nibbles on the food I left out was from faeries but we've just found out we have rats in our garden:(.I don't think many fey live in australia.Btw there is a really good website with fairy sightings from kids and adults it's called Fairy Gardens-youth sightings.

Hi this is g6.Do faeries like thunderstorms?I hope so because I live in queensland where right now there is a thunderstorm everyday and all through the night.In queensland because there is so much heat,humidity and rain all through the year in cairns [where I live] that rainforest cover a lot of cairns.So I think cairns has the largest amount of fey in australia.

I don't know if all gnomes are bad, but the ones in my yard are. they have been digging up my plants and replanting them in other places. i think one bit my dog. I dont think that i can reason with them, they dont seem to care what i think. I might look into pest control products that i could use in my yard to get rid of them.

I'm not even sure if santa is still alive. last christmas i heard neighing and pawing outside my window and when i looked outside i saw eight reindeers hooked up to a big sled filled with presents. thinking santa must be in my living room filling up our stockings, i ran in there to catch him but instead of santa i saw a reindeer wearing glasses, a red robe, and black boots that were WAY too big for him. I think the reindeer did something to santa and now they are impersonating him!

But there are some really evil ones that have been banished from the good faeries court.There are two faerie courts ,the seelie(good)and the unseelie(bad).The unseelie court love tormenting and putting curses on humans.The curse that they put on humans is horrible.If they put it on one human they put it on that persons whole family until the whole family is dead.Fortunantly good faeries and psychics can convince the bad fairies to lift the curse.I think this is true but scary.

I've just made a fairy house thing.It includes a bed made out of extremely comfy grass in a basket,bannana bread,a table which is a small clay pot turned upside down,a bath which is a shell,a tiny bar of soap and a shell filled with sweet smelling bath gel.Will they like it?

Hey, my name is Sierra. I've seen a fairy before. It was green and looked like a mini Barbie doll. It had a green dress, greens skin, green dragonfly wings, green hair, everything green! I just collected all of the info you guys have all said on this page. LOL, it took me like an hour! I'm going to look up that Professor Dalrydimple thing and try it. And, I'm going to try all of the things you guys psted and collect it in a nice book, hopefully, at least! I love fairies, and I really want to catch one. I know fairies live in California (where I live) because I've seen about 4 here. Some are petite like Barbie dolls, and some are big and husky, like American Girl dolls. They were all female, from those I have seen. There was this one big one, with black flowing hair, yellow wings and a flowing yellow dress. She was beautiful! But as soon as I saw her, she vanished. Fairies do not like to be seen!!!

yes the fairy could've misstaken your sister for your cousin. Fairy mothers do not like to look at their own babies so they switch out the baby fairy with a beatuful human baby. so if you know what day then you can keep your cousin safe but i would still give your sister protection give them BOTH red thread to wear. That should keep them safe. Best of luck.

Today I made a new fairy house thing.I made a hammock out of a pink silk baby bonnet of one of my porcelin dolls then I put soft pinkish flowers on it.I then hung it on a flower bush.Next I turned a basket upside down and put it in our short tree that is behind the flower bush.I used the basket as a table and put euclyptus nuts on it then I spread honey all over the nuts.Do you think the fairies will like it?
